Nepal’s Sanu Maya Thing knocked out in Asian Games karate

Nepal’s Sanu Maya Thing was knocked out of the women’s individual kata competition as karate events at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya got underway on Sunday. Nepal also saw its medal hopes in wushu end early, with Vijay Singhjali eliminated in the opening round of the men’s changquan event.

Singhjali struggled across all three stages of the competition held on Sunday morning. Japan meanwhile secured its first gold of the Games in triathlon.

Takumi Hojo became Japan’s first gold medallist at the Asian Games.
