US to cut nearly $4 billion in Israel military aid, Trump says

President Donald Trump said that the United States would still sell weapons to Israel. He added that Democratic candidates were using US military support for Israel against Republicans in the midterm elections. The US will end an agreement that sees it provide Israel nearly $4 billion (€3.5 billion) in annual aid by the end of the year, President Donald Trump said Tuesday.
In an interview with the conservative US broadcaster Fox, Trump said Israel was "fine" with him ending the assistance, which is due to run until the end of 2028 . "Now, as far as paying Israel, Bibi Netanyahu and I have made a deal that we give Israel $4 billion a year, and we made a deal months ago that we're stopping," Trump told the hosts of the "Fox & Friends" morning show, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu . Trump said Israel is "fine" with the US slashing the aid.
"We've already agreed that by the end of the year we won't be paying Israel.
