One drowned, another missing at Visakhapatnam’s RK Beach

VISAKHAPATNAM A youngster drowned and another has gone missing after five friends from Parawada in Anakapalli district were allegedly swept away by strong waves while playing at the RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. As per the reports, the five youths, who had come from Parawada, were playing in the waters, when they were caught off guard by the strong waves and were dragged into deeper waters. Lifeguards on duty immediately launched a rescue operation.

While three of them were rescued safely, the remaining two were swept away by the waves and went missing. During the operation, the body of one of the missing youths was recovered from the sea. Search efforts were continuing to locate the other youth.

A case was registered.
