“India is an upcoming horological power. I am quite impressed with how far watch culture in India is progressing,” Raymond Loretan, president of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), told me on the sidelines of its three-day Mumbai pitstop, part of a larger world tour, last month. The countdown begins to the watchmaking ‘Oscars’; the winners will be announced today. It’s the 26th edition with 84 nominated watches competing across 19 prize categories.
The most coveted of them all is the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix, the “Best in Show” prize. Comments have to be in English, and in full sentences. They cannot be abusive or personal. Please abide by our community guidelines for posting your comments.
