Nepali Communist Party decides to withdraw support for Madhesh government

The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has decided to withdraw its support for the Nepali Congress-led government in Madhesh province, with its four ministers preparing to resign. According to Benchi Lungeli, a provincial assembly member from the NCP, the party took the decision at a virtual meeting of its Madhesh provincial parliamentary party on Friday.

The meeting also decided that its ministers would submit their resignations. The NCP's decision follows the CPN-UML's earlier withdrawal of support for the Congress-led government.

With the NCP also set to leave the coalition, Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav faces mounting pressure.
