NAGERCOIL While highlighting the stray dog menace, Councillors of Nagercoil Corporation urged the authorities to ensure that dogs that have undergone Animal Birth Control (ABC) procedures are physically marked for easy identification, instead of merely providing figures on the number of dogs treated. The demand was raised at the council meeting of Nagercoil Corporation held here on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Mary Princy Latha (in-charge Mayor) in the presence of Corporation Commissioner R.
Ishwarya. During the meeting, some Councillors expressed concerns over stray dog menace in the Corporation areas. They pointed out that while the authorities provided figures on the number of ABC procedures carried out on stray dogs, physical identification of the dogs that had undergone the procedure was equally important.
Ward 50 Councillor T. Ayappan raised concern over delay in completing the drinking water project under the AMRUT scheme in newly added areas of the corporation. He urged the authorities to expedite the project.
