Vande Mataram resonates across key landmarks of Mysuru

Mysuru Melodious rendition of all stanzas of Vande Mataram, penned by Bankima Chandra Chatterjee, reverberated through the serene surroundings of Kukkarahalli Lake, Nandi Statue atop Chamundi Hills and Mysuru palace on Saturday, to mark the anniversary of iconic national song. In a unique initiative, Purna Chetana School brought together 16 students from Classes 3 to 8 to render all stanzas of the national song.

The students first rendered the song at Chamundi Hills at 8.30 a.m., followed by Mysuru palace and Kukkarahalli Lake. The initiative aimed to create awareness among the public, particularly the younger generation, about the historical significance of ‘Vande Mataram’ and its role in the freedom movement.

As the students’ rendition filled the surroundings with patriotic fervour, several members of the public joined them in singing, while visitors stood in respect, the school said in a press release. The performance also drew the attention of tourists at Mysuru palace.
