A man in Arkansas has lost his legal challenge against the sale of a property he once owned with his former wife. The couple had bought the land together in 2021 but divorced less than a year later, leaving each with a 50% share.
The dispute began after the woman and her new husband filed for bankruptcy in 2023, leading to the sale of her share to an investment company.Logan Riffenburg and his former wife, Vanessa Roper, bought the property in Mountain View, Arkansas. After their divorce, both continued to own half of the land.
Roper later remarried, and she and her new husband filed for bankruptcy.According to the ruling, during the bankruptcy proceedings, the trustee handling Roper's assets sought permission to sell her share of the property to Blue Sun Capital LLC. Riffenburg objected, but the bankruptcy court approved the sale, saying it was "in good faith, for fair value, and in the best interest of all parties".Riffenburg then challenged the decision and asked the court to stop the sale while his appeal was being considered.
