Two seriously hurt in 30-vehicle crash on the M20 in Kent

More than 30 vehicles were involved in a crash which left two people seriously injured on the M20 in Kent on Saturday evening. The crash happened in foggy conditions just after 18:40 GMT on the London-bound carriageway between junctions eight (Maidstone) and nine (Ashford). An air ambulance crew, three fire engines and a "technical rescue unit" were sent to the scene, where National Highways said "thick fog" had been confirmed.

Kent Police said one of the two people seriously injured had been taken to a hospital locally, and the other to a London hospital. Copyright © 2026 BBC. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external sites.
