A woman whose plans to elope in Northern Ireland ended after her fiance suffered a medical emergency invited 11 women she had never met to join her on the trip instead. Bridget Devaney, who is based between the United States and Killarney in the Republic of Ireland, turned her cancelled wedding plans into a week-long gathering with strangers from the US, Canada and Wales.According to BBC report, The women travelled together in October, visiting some of Northern Ireland's best-known attractions, including the Giant's Causeway, the Dark Hedges and Londonderry.
They also took part in a special photoshoot on what became known as Bridget's "non-wedding day".The idea began months earlier, when Bridget was still dealing with the end of her relationship. Her fiance's medical emergency had disrupted their original wedding plans, and the couple subsequently separated.
Although the wedding was no longer happening, some of the arrangements remained in place. In April, an email from her wedding photographer asking about the postponed ceremony prompted Bridget to reconsider what she wanted to do.
