MANGALURU The Karnataka Legislature Committee on the Welfare of Backward Classes and Minorities on Thursday directed the Department of Backward Classes and Minorities to appoint a warden to every hostel under its control, within the next fortnight. The committee held its meeting in Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat in Mangaluru. The chairman of the committee Tanveer Sait presided over it.

Mr.
Sait directed that a regular warden should be appointed to each individual hostel. Noting that 23 hostels under the Department of Backward Classes in the district are currently operating in rented buildings, the committee instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada H.V.
