1983 Air Canada jet runs out of fuel mid-air, but pilots land safely with all 69 aboard

On July 23, 1983, an Air Canada Boeing 767 experienced a loss of engine power while traversing over Manitoba. With 61 passengers and 8 crew aboard, a serious fuel miscalculation by ground staff resulted in a 45 percent shortage.

Remarkably, the pilots managed to glide the aircraft and executed an emergency landing on an old military track. Thankfully, everyone onboard suffered only minor injuries, and the plane was later restored.
